Vestibular Rehabilitation

What is Vestibular Rehabilitation?

Vestibular Rehabilitation targets every aspects of the vestibular system to improve your symptoms of vertigo and your balance. The vestibular system takes information from your eyes, joints, and inner ear to understand how you are moving, and Vestibular Rehabilitation helps your brain realign all this information. A vestibular-trained therapist will assess you and provideyou with a specific treatment and exercise program.

In many cases, such as BPPV, a maximum of 1-3 visits is all that isneeded to help you.

What conditions can we help you with?

Do you have Vertigo? Dizziness? Falls? Spinning? Come for an assessment; we can likely help you!

Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV), Meniere’s Disease, Perilymphatic Fistula, Vestibular Neuritis & Labyrinthitis (Bilateral &Unilateral), Bilateral Vestibular Loss, and many more.

Living with dizziness or vertigo is not a normal part of aging and is very treatable.

What training do our therapists have?

Our therapists have undergone several different series of courses to help you better, including courses in Vestibular Condition Treatment & Assessment, Concussion Treatment & Rehabilitation, and Manual Therapy.

Can my symptoms get worse with physiotherapy?

You may experience a temporary increase in your symptoms during and after the assessment and treatment, as well as when you perform your home exercise program.

The good news is that the temporary increase in your symptoms will typically not worsen your condition – on the contrary, it will help you feel better in the long term.

Note: it is recommended to have someone drive you home from the appointment and plan to rest for a couple of hours after your appointment.
